My Faith.
I am a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! What, oh what would I do without this church in my life? It guided me as a youth. It helps me now as a parent. It is full of good people from all walks of life. It brings us all to Jesus Christ as he encourages us to love and serve others. Each day, every day. It has brought meaning, support, and joy into my life like nothing else could have. All this is a big part of what motivated me to write Emily's Tree.
I grew up in Utah, surrounded by people whose lives were blessed by this church, like mine was. When I was newly married, my husband and I moved to the Midwest. That was a change! But what an opportunity to get to know so many amazing people outside my church. I warmed myself by the embers of their faith and goodness. Since that big move 18 years ago, I have watched first-hand as many friends have, like Emily, discovered the LDS church, met with missionaries, and chosen to add even more light and goodness to their lives.

Now my oldest son is serving a mission, just like the girls in my book! I love hearing his stories about the good people of Chile who are getting baptized and starting on the covenant path back to our Savior.
